While I like Venice in June, I’d recommend Bolzano to the north. Edge of the mountains, much less expensive, university in town with - among other things - a business intelligence program. Plus, if it’s too hot and humid you can take the cable car up the mountain and cool off.

Oh, and they tend to speak German and ENglish up there so it makes getting around easier
